Michael Goletz

Managing Director

Michael has over 20 years of financial services experience working for some of the most well-known companies in the industry from a Wall Street firm, a Super Regional Bank, a Fortune 25 Finance Company, a Start-up Asset-Based Lending Group, and finally a Non-Bank Asset Based Lending Platform.

Michael has a passion for helping people connect with the right solutions. Clear Horizon Capital Advisors is the vehicle that allows Michael the opportunity to marry his passions (deal generation, networking, competitive nature, winning, strong moral compass) with his skills in financial analysis, access and understanding of the capital markets, and solutions-based selling abilities.

Most recently, Michael worked for White Oak Commercial Finance as a Director - Originations focused on asset-based lending opportunities in the Midwest. White Oak Commercial Finance is the asset-based lending platform for White Oak Global Advisors which is a $6 billion AUM private debt fund headquartered in San Francisco, CA. Michael left White Oak to form Clear Horizon Capital Advisors LLC in 2020.

Prior to joining White Oak, Michael worked for WNB Specialty Finance, a division of Woodforest National Bank as a Senior Vice President - Midwest Regional Manager. Woodforest National Bank is a $5 billion in assets community bank headquartered in Houston, TX and the asset-based lending group was headquartered in Detroit, MI. In this role, Michael covered the Midwest originating asset-based lending opportunities from $3 to $25 million in deal size. Michael worked with WNB Specialty Finance up until the division was sold in 2019.

Prior to joining WNB Specialty Finance, Michael worked for GE Capital in their Corporate Finance Group as Vice President of Business Development where he originated senior debt deals (cash flow and asset-based lending) to public and privately-held companies in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Michigan. Michael stayed with GE Capital until the Corporate Finance Group was sold in March 2016 to Wells Fargo Bank.

Prior to joining WNB Specialty Finance, Michael held various positions at PNC Bank and its predecessor, National City Bank, including as a relationship manager in the corporate and industrial (“C&I”) group, relationship manager in commercial real estate (“CRE” or “IRE”), and rotations through corporate credit, derivatives, institutional asset management, and syndications was part of National City’s Corporate Associate Program.

Michael began his career with Lehman Brothers in New York, NY and Chicago, IL as part of Lehman’s START analyst program. In New York, Michael worked as an Assistant Trader on the firm’s US Treasury repurchase agreement trading desk and then transferred to Lehman’s Chicago office to work as a Senior Sales Assistant in the firm’s Institutional Client Group as part of a sales team that sold fixed income securities to mid-sized banks and insurance companies across the Midwest.

Michael earned his Master of Business Administration from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University - Bloomington where he majored in Finance and minored in Decision Support Modeling.

Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and graduated cum laude from Butler University. While at Butler, Michael was a four year letter winner for Butlers I-AA Football Team, was a Two-time winner of the GTE Academic All-American for Football (One of 22 Recipients in 1998 & 1999), and was a recipient of the Burger King College Football Scholarship (1999).
